Remaining 2010 HTPA Luncheon Meeting Dates


Thursday, 8 April

Guest Speaker: George Soliz, former FRA Inspector

 

Mr. Soliz will discuss Positive Train Control and other coming events of interest in the railroad sector.

Mr. Soliz graduated from a small town high school in Rio Visit, Texas. Shortly after high school he started his railroad career with the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company. He was employed by the Federal Railroad Administration as a Motive Power and Equipment Safety Inspector in 1974. In 1989, he was promoted to Chief Inspector and served in this position until retiring in 2008.

In 2009, Mr. Soliz started GBS Railroad Consulting Services LLC, providing assistance in various capacities; regulatory compliance, safety audits, safety training and accident investigations associated with railroad operations and FRA regulations and safety standards.

Mr. Soliz enjoys working with his Texas Longhorn cows and their calves, joy riding with his wife and dog, Tuff, through the neighborhood in their golf cart.

Mr. Soliz has been married to his wife Angie for twenty years. They have 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grand children.

restaurant located at 2019 Post Oak Boulevard between San
Felipe and Westheimer.

In 2010, HTPA luncheon meetings will be held on Thursdays.

HTPA will broadcast luncheon email reminders asking members to register promptly. Please respond in a timely manner to allow the luncheon organizers to plan accordingly.  Members and guests are encouraged to pay online in advance and enjoy a smooth and speedy check-in at the luncheon.

Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and luncheons commence promptly at 12:00 p.m.

Registration is $30.00. Parking is free.  If needed, driving directions can be obtained by calling MAGGIANO'S at (713) 961-2700, or get a printable map.

Non-Members are Welcome, too...

Non-members are asked to call (281) 298-9700 to reserve luncheon seats. Excluding the annual holiday luncheon, non-members can pay the $30 registration fee (cash or check) at the luncheon.
