As we look forward to another great year at the HTPA, I cannot help but reflect upon the activities and accomplishments of the club over the past year. In addition to our monthly business meetings, HTPA successfully hosted a volunteer charity event, two golf tournaments, and a "sell-out" holiday luncheon! The proceeds from the two incredibly successful golf tournaments made it possible to provide $30,000 in scholarships to 20 well deserving students. On behalf of the board of directors, I want to thank all the volunteers and committee members that provided the horsepower for these events as well as the members and generous sponsors for their participation. As we begin the 42nd year of the HTPA, we intend to carry on the legacy of educating members in logistics and transportation and providing a quality forum for creating and growing valuable relationships. Let's use the momentum of past successes to expand the scholarship program and our gifts to charity. Your involvement is the key to the success of the club. To be a part of one of the largest and most successful transportation clubs in North America, please contact any of the board members to discuss the benefits of joining our organization. If you are already a member, take a moment to recruit a co-worker or become more involved by volunteering, joining a committee, or becoming a member of the board. I look forward to seeing everyone at our business meetings throughout 2008 and enjoying another successful year for HTPA!
